Fight Hunger in Our Neighborhoods – Help Stuff the Bus!

Did you know 72,460 people in Fairfax County are experiencing food insecurity? Today, Nonprofit partners are reporting 30% to 400% increases in the numbers of people seeking help. Once again, Fairfax County residents are invited to join the county’s Stuff the Bus food drive. This year, the County will be welcoming both in-person and virtual donations!

This year, food collections will be hosted at 21 locations across Fairfax County from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 30 and Saturday, February 6. Buses will be in less-frequented lots – including Board of Supervisors’ offices, schools, libraries and the Pennino building – collect nonperishable food items to support local food pantries.

For those who are unable to donate in person, monetary donations can be made by visiting the websites of the partner nonprofits serving our community. Our partners can turn your dollars into more meals, specialized and culturally appropriate foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, and low-fat dairy products and lean meats which cannot be collected through food drives.

To donate, simply visit the Stuff the Bus Website, and click on our nonprofit partners serving our community (including ECHO, LINK, Food for Others, WFCM, Cornerstones, United Community, Koinonia, ACCA, and The Falls Church Community Service Council).
