The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) joins the nation in celebrating Fair Housing Month and the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. The month of April is a designated time to celebrate the advancements of equal access to housing regardless of race, color, religion, sex, nationality, familial and military status, disability or ancestry. Enacted by Congress in 1968, the Fair Housing Act applies to housing and housing related-activities.
People who believe they have experienced housing discrimination may file a complaint by contacting the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at (800) 669-9777. Housing discrimination complaints may also be filed at www.hud.gov/fairhousing.
