Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority Scholarship Program

 

The FCRHA awards scholarships to Fairfax County residents who live in housing supported by the FCRHA. The FCRHA is committed to encouraging higher learning as it recognizes the importance of individuals pursuing a career path that leads to economic independence.

About the Scholarship Program


FCRHA scholarships are designed to promote postsecondary education and technical training for Fairfax County residents who live in affordable housing supported by the FCRHA. In 2023, 10 scholarships were awarded, valued at $5,000 each.

Scholarships are submitted directly to the institution the recipient is enrolled in. Funds may be used for tuition and related fees as well as books, supplies, and course equipment. Applications for 2024 will open during the next year.

Who is Eligible?
  • Individuals who are a member of a household currently receiving housing assistance through the FCRHA are eligible. This includes, but is not limited to, households receiving any type of federal, state, or local rental housing assistance.

  • Applicants must be a resident of Fairfax County, VA, for at least six months prior to submitting their scholarship application.

  • Applicants must be accepted by an accredited postsecondary education institution including a two-year or four-year college, university, vocational or trade/technical school.
