Fairfax County Government and the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority are joining with neighboring jurisdictions and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) to identify racial inequities in housing through the creation of a Regional Housing Equity Plan (also known as an Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice) . To do this effectively, we need to hear the voice of our community! We value the diversity of perspectives, experiences, concerns, and ideas of our residents in identifying and solving the equity challenges that exist at the neighborhood level.
To begin this dialog, COG will be hosting three workshop sessions on Housing, Equity and Race: Fair Housing in the DMV Region. These workshops will engage participants in discussions on the history of housing and race and draw upon real experiences to capture the inequities and challenges that continue to exist throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. We want to hear your voice!
