Pre-Development for Franconia Affordable Housing Advances

FCRHA votes to move forward with The Franconia Development Partners, LLC

During its meeting on July 23, 2026, the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) voted to move forward with pre-development activities for 6121 Franconia Road, the site of the former Franconia Governmental Center. 

With the vote, the FCRHA and developer, The Franconia Development Partners, LLC, will continue pre-development activities to include final design, permitting, and obtaining financing for the 120-unit affordable housing development. 

Project specifics – such as final building layout, site plan, and affordability levels – will be determined as the project planning continues. The development timeline remains to be determined and is expected to take several years.

About the Developer, The Franconia Development Partners, LLC 

Franconia Development Partners, LLC, is comprised of SCG Development Partners, LLC (SCG), Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services, Inc. (GSH), and NFP Affordable Housing Corp. (NFP). 

The executed comprehensive agreement enables Franconia Development Partners, LLC, to advance pre-development activities, working with other Fairfax County agencies such as the Department of Housing and Community Development and Land Development Services.
