Affordable Housing Users: Apply Today for a $5,000 Scholarship Toward Postsecondary Education

The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority is accepting applications for academic scholarships. Up to ten applicants will receive a $5,000 scholarship for postsecondary education including technical training.

Since 2023, the FCRHA has awarded 30 scholarships to individuals supporting their education and training in a broad range of fields.


Who can apply?

Fairfax County residents who live in affordable housing supported by the FCRHA. Applicants must be accepted into an accredited postsecondary educational institution located in the U.S. and have been a resident of Fairfax County for at least six months.


Deadline: March 30, 2026


How do you apply?

Apply on the FCRHA website. Please call 703-246-5000 or email fcrhascholarship@fairfaxcounty.gov for assistance. Applications will be accepted through March 30, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.


What are the requirements?

A full list of application requirements can be found on the FCRHA website. These include:

  • Letters of recommendation

  • Completion of essay questions
