Deadline Extended: Proposals Requesting Amazon Impact REACH Funds Due Sept. 17

Earlier this summer, Fairfax County announced more than $18 million in available funding for affordable housing. This announcement included funding allocated by Virginia Housing to the Northern Virginia region through the Amazon Impact REACH fund which could provide up to $3.75 million or $5 million per project depending on the number of units within the project scope. The deadline to submit proposals for Amazon Impact REACH funding has been extended to 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.

Virginia Housing supported the Commonwealth’s effort to bring Amazon’s second headquarters to Northern Virginia through a five-year commitment of $15 million annually (beginning in fiscal year 2020) in new REACH Virginia funding for affordable housing in the region. To date, Virginia Housing has allocated approximately $30 million of this total $75 million commitment. All proposals for funding in Fairfax County are submitted through the county’s Department of Housing and Community Development. For details on the application process, please visit Fairfax County’s Local Funding Availability for Affordable Housing website.

This extended deadline does not impact proposals submitted for funding through any other program or funding source included in this year’s notice of funding availability. All other requests for funding will be accepted on a rolling basis until June 30, 2022, or until the funds are exhausted.
