During the pandemic and after, many organizations involved in affordable housing development experienced budget shortfalls due to increased construction costs and supply chain issues.
In an effort to close the gap, the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development announced availability of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) One-Time Supplemental Infrastructure Fund. Intended for existing infrastructure projects, the Fund will support situations where funding is needed in order to achieve contracted benefits and the completion of the grant closeout.
The opportunity is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and applications can be accessed through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s Centralized Application and Management System (CAMS) under “2023 CDBG Program.” Funding requests cannot exceed $1.5 million and the program will remain open until December 30 or until funds are expended.
