Fairfax County’s annual Demographics Report is a virtual data "gold mine” that is frequently used for planning future infrastructure and economic development, programs and services, budgeting, grant writing and much more! The report is comprised of data that can be broken down by supervisor districts, towns, planning districts, human services regions, ZIP codes and census tracts. The report is published by the county’s Economic, Demographic and Statistical Research Unit, and assists county leaders in designing and delivering services based on population changes and trends.
The report features population estimates and forecasts; housing units and their characteristics; residential development activity; and commercial and industrial gross floor area. It also unlocks the baseline data that helps define who we are as a county and community – which then fuels other decisions such as the county’s proposed budget for the next fiscal year and beyond.
