Susan Timoner Recognized for Years of Service to Affordable Housing

Fairfax County Government attorney dedicated public career to affordable housing

Susan Timoner, an attorney with the Fairfax County Office of the County Attorney (OCA), was recognized at the July 23, 2026 Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) Board of Commissioners meeting for her career dedication to affordable housing.

As a member of the OCA team, Ms. Timoner frequently served as lead counsel to bring Fairfax County initiatives to fruition. Under her guidance, the FCRHA was able to catalyze development of The Exchange at Spring Hill Station and Indigo at McLean Station. She also was key in the overhaul of WDU program guidelines, and to the closing of numerous Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership loans.

Ms. Timoner is retiring from her role in August.
