Deputy County Attorney Receives Award for Outstanding Efforts in Affordable Housing

Deputy County Attorney Cynthia Bailey was recently awarded the A. Robert Cherin Award by The Local Government Attorneys of Virginia.  This prestigious statewide recognition honors a local government attorney who has demonstrated distinguished public service and reflects a personal commitment to the highest professional and ethical principles.




Ms. Bailey has served with distinction in the Fairfax County Office of the County Attorney for approximately 25 years, overseeing efforts on affordable housing, land use, procurement, public records, and more.  As the Deputy County Attorney, Ms. Bailey has steadfastly guided the Office’s legal efforts on affordable housing matters including public-private partnerships.  Along with her professional work, Ms. Bailey is an active member of various statewide organizations, teaches college level courses and legal seminars, and consistently works to advance local government attorneys in Virginia.
